Foundation

The Foundation Human Rights Promotion. Teaching and Research was established in 1990, with its seat being located in Poznań. The Foundation closely cooperates with the Poznań Human Rights Centre (Institute of Legal Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences) and since its inception has been actively supporting various projects designed to promote the protection of human rights. It also encourages the profound research and teaching on human rights.
The Foundation?s primary activity includes:
?         stimulating academic research;
?         encouraging teaching human rights at all levels of education
?         organizing professional trainings;
?         supporting development of the material infrastructure used for the research and teaching of human rights;
?         supporting academic and educational publications in the field of human rights;
?         assisting in activities aimed at the protection of human rights carried out by non-governmental organizations.
 
Since 1992 the Foundation  has been organizing a summer school entitled Course on International Protection of Human Rights, an unflaggingly popular initiative among students, NGO activists and young academics. In addition, the Foundation organizes and co-organizes conferences, seminars and lectures devoted to the emerging issues of human rights protection. Most recently the financial support of the Foundation allowed for the organization of the following events: Hate Speech vs. Free Speech – Legal and Social Aspects, conference(2009); Human Rights and Their Limits, open lecture given by Professor Wiktor Osiatyński (2009); Legal Limits of the Freedom of Religion, conference (2010).
