ASSOCIATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS INSTITUTES (AHRI)

AHRI is a network composed of 22 European human rights institutes.
The association's aims include promotion of research, education and discussion in the field of human rights.
The objectives of the association are to be realized through:

  1. Functioning as a platform for academic discussions by organising seminars and/or conferences;
  2. Promoting cooperation in  research and education activities;
  3. Initiating new research and education activities;
  4. Facilitating the exchange of staff members and PhD students between the participating institutes;
  5. Giving, on request or on its own initiative, advice and consultancy to inter-governmental organisations, other international bodies, governments, parliaments, political parties, the judiciary, the legal profession, social institutions and groups.

AHRI participates in publishing of the following journals:

Currently, the association is working to implement scientific project on "Human Rights, Peace and Security in EU Foreign Policy" funded by COST in the framework of its A28 action.
According to an established practice, AHRI organizes annual conferences combined with meetings of the AHRI Assembly.
